Theme Day – Statues: To working women of the world!

This is a statue of Marija Jurić Zagorka, Croatian writer and journalist who was born in 1873. and lived till 1957. She was the first Croatian female journalist at a time when it was not appropriate for a woman to be in that kind of job and even had to write under a male pseudonym. So, I thought it would be nice to dedicate this post on a Labour Day to her because she was a true fighter for human rights and the rights of workers.

I wish you all happy Labour Day and a nice weekend!

  1. Nice pick for the theme day. The Swedish equivalent to Zagorka was a woman called Barbro Alving.
